/p>Flash memory does have its advantages when it comes to speed and
reliability but when it comes to capacity it is still lacks behind
the traditional hard drive. Sony started selling the Vaio Type U
with 16GB Flash memory in mid July but seriously 16GB is far too
less. Sony has taken this into consideration and doubled the
capacity to 32GB. Along with the Flash memory Sony has also bumped
the RAM from 512MB to 1GB.

Mobility Today has posted up a couple of videos that showcase the Zune from Microsoft. This portable media player is the Redmond giant's first foray into the portable media player business and aims to take a slice out of Apple's pie. The videos show how the navigation system works, so you guys can judge whether it is better to stick to the iPod or not. One drawback would be the lack of choice when it comes to storage size, as the 30GB hard drive might not quite make the cut for most people. You can also share a song with a friend wirelessly, where the song will last for 3 days or just 3 times of listening, whichever comes first. More features of the Zune are available after the jump.

Just as how the iPod nano and Shuffle has shrunk in the recent revamp, it is only fitting that such a portable digital audio player deserves a speaker add-on which embodies the spirit of miniaturization. The MicroSound from Miglia is a speaker which plugs into the headphone jack of either the nano or Shuffle, where a single AAA battery is capable of supplying up to 12 hours of non-stop audio playback. Each speaker can pump out 850mw R.M.S., which is pretty impressive considering the 60mm x 20mm x 20mm size. The MicroSound retails for £17.01 ex. VAT.

The Bendi Light-Up keyboard combines the flexibility of the Angel Kitty USB keyboard as well as a backlight to help you see what you're typing in pitch dark conditions. This keyboard comes with standard keys and can be rolled up for easy transportation. Since it is made from silicone, the chances of it falling into ruin is extremely low, and its waterproof qualities will go a long way for those who are wont to spill their beverages over. One note of caution though - the blue light might be nice to look at for short periods of time, but extended usage could cause unnecessary stress to your eyes. Gadget Box is carrying the Bendi Light-Up keyboard for approximately $54.

Those magazines which still hold large circulations do so with cover-mounted tip ons, freebies, competitions and massive marketing budgets. While magazines target specific audiences far better than most media, these market forces have detracted from magazines’ ability to deliver large audiences.
The company which Joanna founded, ModernMedia Concepts, has only been in existence since August but has been busy testing and refining the concept, developing a product which can be safely stored in a refrigerator without condensation affecting the paper.
ModernMedia Concepts CEO Alex McKinnon told Gizmag the tests had been highly successful in consumer trials and the first such on-product magazine now ready for market. “It won’t survive submersion in an ice bucket for long, but it handles condensation in a refrigerator just fine,†said McKinnon.

"After seven years of development The Plasma 2System represents the latest in ergonomic technology for the daily computer user," says Alan Tholkes, founder of HealthPostures.
"Right now it's a quantum leap in how the human body interacts with the computer, but soon The Plasma 2System will be as common as the fax machine, employees will come to expect it." Jack Hockenberry, co-developer of the Plasma 2System goes on to say, "If you've been using a traditional static desk and chair -- based on technology predating electricity -- to interact with the latest computer hardware, you are missing a valuable competitive edge."
You don't just feel the benefits of The Plasma 2System in your body; you can see it on the bottom line. According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health; workers who switched to an ergonomic workstation, realized a 24% performance gain.
The Plasma 2System was motivated in part by legislation in the mid '90's requiring employers to provide necessary ergonomic equipment for employees.
The Plasma 2System is your answer to this requirement, the System's Stance angle chair is the only chair endorsed by the International Academy of Chiropractic Occupational Health Consultants and HealthPostures is an authorized government provider of ergonomically designed computer peripherals. BAIKONUR, Sept 17 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - Soyuz TMA-9 spaceship commander Mikhail Tyurin and flight engineer, NASA astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria, applauded the first ever female space tourist Anousheh Ansari's readiness for her journey to the International Space Station.
"I was quite surprised by her professionalism. She has easily become part of the crew. One could think we'd been working for years together," Tyurin said at a news conference at Baikonur on Sunday after a state commission confirmed the main and backup crews.
"It's amazing how Michael and I think in an absolutely the same way sometimes," Tyurin said.
Ansari joined preparations for the flight to the ISS, replacing the previous male candidate.
Lopez-Alegria said he had been critical of space tourism previously, but changed his mind after seeing the serious requirements Roscosmos applied to the candidates and the preparations. Anousheh did a serious and intense job, he said.
Ansari, an American of Iranian origin, said an Iranian flag on her spacesuit had nothing to do with politics and only conveyed her personal attitude to the nation and its people. She said she was a symbol of the country and wanted people to be proud of the Iranian flag on her spacesuit. The Iranian flag is not officially represented in events at the International Space Station, she said.
Ansari confessed that she had wanted to fly into space all her life and that she was expecting great impressions from her stay on board the ISS. She said she was prepared for extraordinary feelings and would try to memorize every moment. She also said she would take pictures of the Earth and conduct experiments.
Besides having a good camera this gadget phone is a good phone itself. It is a pretty big cell phone and it is as thick as two Motorola Razrs stacked together. However, the size is not the main disadvantage of the phone. I think that it is too easy to use the phone however some features are hidden in the depths of menu. However, the overall note is that this is a comfortable phone to use. It has a Micro SD expansion slot but there is no card when you buy it. You have to buy the card yourself. Well, this gadget has 72 MB of internal memory so it is enough at first. The music can be played from the card memory and from the phone memory which is a good thing. Let's talk about the main advantage of this gadget phone: the 3.2 mega pixel camera. To take shots you can flip open and rotate the cover around. It rotates 180 degrees and then you just close it back with the screen turned to the outside. It automatically activates the camera mode and you see the shots using the 2.2 inch screen. This camera makes pictures and it records videos too.
You can take the pictures 2048 x 1536 pixels pictures with this phone. The outdoor pictures are perfect and I have even made a poster out of a picture made by this phone. The pictures made inside turn out not as good because they have some noise. I would like to say that the video quality is very nice and you do not see any squares when you play it. It records sound too, just like a good camera phone. The camera's biggest disadvantage is the one to two second shutter lag. This is a big problem because I sometimes move the camera before it takes the shot. The other situation is when you ask somebody to take a picture of you. If not told they always move the camera before it makes the shot. However, after you have taken a shot you can edit the picture in any way you want. You can resize pictures, rotate them, you can even merge two different pictures together, you can apply some effects like sketch and blur. There is one cool function about this phone: it has a TV out cable.
That means that you are able to look trough the pictures using you TV. I have never met a phone that would have a function like this. I have noticed that when you send a picture as an e-mail or in a text message it makes the picture smaller. From its original 300 KB – 500 KB it changes it to 100 KB and you loose the quality of the picture. The files can be also transmitted via Bluetooth or USB cable (You have to buy one.) Generally this is a very great cell phone gadget and it has a really coo high quality camera. It is very expensive too. The Verizon Wireless can sell it to you for 0 with a one year contract. Good high technology gadget costs very much.
I wanted to let you all know that I will be at the X Prize Cup event in Las Cruces New Mexico October 20-21. You will see me roaming around and spending a lot of time in the children’s tent :-) That’ s where I spent a lot of time last year. They have cool simulators and I’m a kid at heart so I stood in line with the 12- and 13-year-olds to play with the simulators.
The event last year was a pre-opening event and it was attended by a lot of space enthusiasts. There was a wonderful positive space energy in the air. :)
We had an excellent education program, and the kids and adults enjoyed it equally. I was so excited when X Prize Foundation was able to get support from the state of New Mexico to start this annual event. It is the best space event I have attended. There was so much excitement and this year it will be even better.
There are a few exciting competitions that will be fun to watch, like the Lunar Lander Challenge and the Space Elevator Games… and then you have the Rocket Man.
The X Prize Cup is a reminder that the Foundation is committed to inspiring technological advancement for commercial space — and dedicated to educating young imaginative minds about the potential of space.
If you see me around, come and say Hi :-) and tell me that you read this blog and I will give you my autographed personal patch.
I hope to see you there. Bring your telescope or binoculars — the night sky is beautiful to watch.
